Cgiovinazzo has a very special goody for you today.

Actress Lesley-Ann Brandt has recently launched her official website and took some time out of her busy schedule to do a live Q&A session with her fans today. She graciously let Cgiovinazzo know about it and answered some of the site’s burning questions regarding Duke The Film and working together with Carmine Giovinazzo. Of course she didn’t give away anything too revealing, but still provided some really great information that should give you a much better idea about this beautiful indie movie.


Questions by Cgiovinazzo:

How did you get involved with the Gaudioso brothers’ indie project “Duke The Film” in the first place?

Can you reveal more about your character Violet? What’s her part in the movie?

Do you have any special moments on set and while filming?

Several “Duke The Film” stills show you up close with actor Carmine Giovinazzo who stars alongside you. Can you tell us about Violet’s relationship to Giovinazzo’s character Dare?

How would you describe your personal experience working with Carmine Giovinazzo?


Answers by Lesley-Ann Brandt:

Thanks for the questions. Lets see, got asked to audition by the CSI casting director Jennifer Cooper who had cast me in CSI. I met with Anthony [Gaudioso], James [Gaudioso], Carmine and Jennifer [Cooper] and the rest is history as they say.

Without giving away anything, Violet is “Dares” (Carmine) girlfriend and she is a stripper. She loves him very much but does think his vigilante crime busting puts him and his brother at risk. From a moral standpoint it’s ironic that while Dare has all these ideals about what is good and bad in today’s society and that he judges the bad pretty harshly – he is dating a stripper and one of his best friends is a prostitute and that both of us are good people deep down, we just do our jobs for money. So Violet is sort of the voice of reasoning, the voice is his hear telling him to pull back and look at the big picture. She was such bliss to play!

Yeah, there is this hysterical scene where Dare, Roost and Violet are teaching Roost how to be a cop and I’m in a red feather boa dressing gown yelling and swearing at Roost to prep him for what it might be out like there. Suffice to say the neighbors came out to see what the hell was going on. And take after take Carmine, Hank [Harris] and I improv’d a lot of it – good times!

Carmine was really great to work with. He’s a very intense actor and puts alot of thought into his work so for me it was great to be able to feed off that and it worked well for our characters. He put his heart and soul into this role and worked really hard to do justice to Anthony’s script as did all the actors and crew so I know I’m a better actress for having been part of this great project.

Il sort quand ce film ? Il m'a l'air pas mal du tout.
