Live Bait starts off where last season’s finale left off, only this time we’re following the Governor. I can’t give away too many details – where would be the fun in that? – but let’s just say the Governor is a little different than what we’ve seen so far.
This is an episode that’s lighter on action and more on telling the story of a character’s emotional journey. But I will say this - the second to last line is “Holy shit.” And I can almost guarantee you won’t guess the circumstances around it.
We see a new town and meet a few new characters and learn how they coped after the world turned. They had a very different experience than our prison group and are in a different place emotionally. We also get a glimpse of what became of Woodbury.
Although the phrase is not said, the theme of “coming back” is once again explored from a different perspective.
I commented recently that I wasn’t ready to see the governor back because I was ready to put last season behind me. But I take that back now. The show has once again proved that it can put a fresh twist on the continuation of an old storyline and make it something very different.

Live Bait commence où la finale de la saison dernière a laissé, mais cette fois nous suivons le gouverneur. Je ne peux pas donner trop de détails - où serait le plaisir? - Mais disons simplement que le gouverneur est un peu différent de ce que nous avons vu jusqu'ici. C'est un épisode qui est plus léger sur l'action et plus de raconter l'histoire du voyage émotionnel du personnage. Mais je dis cela - l'avant-dernière ligne est et je peux presque garantir que vous ne serez pas deviner les circonstances autour de lui "Putain de merde.". Nous voyons une nouvelle ville et de rencontrer quelques nouveaux personnages et d'apprendre comment ils ont fait face après l' monde tourné. Ils ont eu une expérience très différente de notre groupe de prison et sont dans un endroit différent émotionnellement. Nous obtenons également un aperçu de ce qui est devenu de Woodbury.
Bien que l'expression n'est pas dit, le thème du "coming back" est à nouveau explorée dans une perspective différente. J'ai fait remarquer récemment que je n'étais pas prêt à voir le gouverneur en arrière parce que j'étais prêt à mettre la dernière saison derrière moi. Mais je retire ce que j'ai maintenant. Le spectacle a une nouvelle fois prouvé qu'il peut mettre une touche de fraîcheur sur la poursuite d'une vieille histoire et faire quelque chose de très différent. J'espère que vous apprécierez.
