The Originals - Season 3 - Claire Holt Returning Posted by Nirat Anop at Thursday, August 13, 2015 24 Comments The Originals
Get ready for more Mikaelsons! The original Finn (Casper Zafer) is making his debut on The Originals season premiere in a flashback scene that will also include fan favorites Claire Holt and Nathaniel Buzolic.
"[It's] a flashback that we've never seen before," Michael Narducci tells TVGuide.com. "We've always understood that the Mikaelson family, the brothers and sister, had to flee in the wake of Esther's death by Klaus' hands. Klaus blamed Mikael and said, 'We have to go. Our father is insane,' and for a very long time Mikael chased them. So wouldn't it be cool to see the family not long after that? What was their state of mind? What were their relationships like? How did they relate to one another knowing Mikael was out there somewhere, and they're relatively new vampires so what was their existence like? I think it might be surprising and interesting."

Fall TV Spoilers 2015: Exclusive Scoop On 43
THE ORIGINALS
Following Klaus' emotional declaration to Cami in the finale, Season 3's premiere -- which kicks off with a six-month time jump -- finds the show's token human, now a licensed psychologist, trying to get her practice off the ground. The tricky part, exec producer Michael Narducci explains, is that her only client is Klaus, a "1,000-year-old vampire-werewolf hybrid with a lot of other issues." (Chance of them keeping their relationship professional: slim to none.) Cami will also work closely with Jason Dohring's character, a "strong, smart" police detective who "finds himself in jeopardy early on." Elsewhere in the Big Easy: Jackson, still cursed to remain a wolf outside of a full moon, will come out swinging against Klaus; Elijah will continue "longing for Hayley," taking solace in knowing that she's "married to mortal who will someday die"; and Davina makes a "definitive choice" to stand against the vampires, severing several relationships she's built thus far.
BONUS SPOILER!: The season premiere is titled "For the Next Millennium" because it flashes back 1,000 years to introduce new characters who remain in the Mikaelsons' lives to this day.

The Originals saison 3 : Episode 1, le titre dévoilé !

The Originals saison 3 - Quel côté choisira Elijah ?

| The Originals - Saison 3 - Episode 2
Curious as to what’s going down on The Originals Season 3 Episode 2, especially after such an explosive premiere? Well, if impending threats and dire prophecies are your idea of fun, then get excited because there will be plenty of morbid supernatural drama coming your way.
Dive into the CW’s official synopsis for “You Hung the Moon” for all the juicy details!
After discovering that poachers have begun taking out werewolves in the bayou, Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Jackson (guest star Nathan Parsons) grow concerned for Hayley’s (Phoebe Tonkin) safety when she fails to show up during the full moon. Meanwhile, Davina (Danielle Campbell), the only one with the answer to Hayley’s whereabouts, plots ways to use that to her advantage. Elsewhere, Cami (Leah Pipes) approaches Klaus (Joseph Morgan) with her theory on who is behind the series of murders in the French Quarter, while Lucien (guest star Andrew Lees) delivers to Elijah an unsettling warning about the war brewing among the sire lines. Finally, after receiving a dire prophecy about the future of the Mikaelson siblings, Klaus takes extreme measures to determine the validity of this potential impending threat. Charles Michael Davis and Riley Voelkel also star. Jeffrey Hunt directed the episode written by Carina Adly Mackenzie (#302). Original airdate 10/15/2015.
Who else is still haunted by Freya’s cryptic warning in the preview trailer for “For The Next Millennium”? “You will all fall,” she whispers at one point, sending chills up and down our spines. What exactly is she referring to? What do you think cruel fate has in store for the Mikaelsons? And who else is sickened by the image of Hayley and her pack being hunted for completely different reasons — like fur and sport, for instance? (This moral quandary was actually at the center of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season 2 episode “Phases,” and raised an interesting discussion about how to appropriately deal with supernatural creatures who were human for the most part.)

‘The Originals’ Daniel Gillies on Elijah and Hayley love, Klaus as a dad and more

Daniel Gillies on 'The Originals'
As “The Originals” prepares for its Season 3 premiere, there’s much to talk about in terms of the Mikaelson family. After working together to defeat Dahlia (Claudia Black) in the Season 2 finale, things have definitely changed in the French Quarter.
Zap2it spoke with Elijah Mikaelson himself — Daniel Gillies — about what the new season brings in terms of danger for the family and the continuing tentions between Elijah and Klaus (Joseph Morgan). Plus, what are the odds that the eldest Mikaelson brother could find love with Hayley, the mother of his niece? Zap2it: Given how last season left off — Hayley under a spell making her stay in wolf form most of the time and the Mikaelsons coming together to defeat Dahlia — where do we find Elijah as the new season begins?
Daniel Gillies: When he told everybody to come out to New Orleans at the beginning of the show, he had such hopes and dreams and aspirations. Those have sort of been rocked and shattered due to a variety of cataclysms that have been thrown at them from every single angle.
RELATED: ‘The Originals’: Kol, Rebekah and Finn return in first-look flashback photos
There’s a slight desperation at the moment. I think we’re seeing [Elijah] come a little undone. He’s sort of the only one of the original family that’s desperately clawing to maintain a sense of … I don’t want to say nobility, because I don’t think that’s what it is. A sort of humanity that he’s trying to hold onto.
Violence comes very easy to these people and nobody is more cognizant of that than Elijah, Now it’ll certainly feel more menacing to the audience to watch him because there’s no length he won’t go to to preserve the safety of Hope and Hayley, who have almost eclipsed his loyalty to Klaus, at least for the moment. It’s interesting, because though they came together in the finale, there’s a very clear and fierce wedge dividing Klaus and Elijah. With Klaus having custody of baby Hope, where is the balance struck between the two of them in terms of who is the parental figure.
I find that interesting. It’s funny that you should say that. There were these images released online of Elijah holding the baby and I started getting all of this rage and vitriol on Twitter and social media feeds. People are saying, “This is the kind of bulls*** that pisses me off, who the f*** do they think they are?”
What’s all this rage? Elijah’s just holding a baby! It was because it was Elijah holding the baby and not Klaus.
RELATED: ‘The Originals’ Season 3: Hope is Klaus’ ‘greatest weakness’ against new big bad
It’s a brave thing for the writers to do actually, to make your lead character be sort of an absentee father.
It wasn’t something he wanted. The moment that Klaus discovered she was pregnant, he told her to abort the kid! This isn’t Tony Danza on “Who’s the Boss,” do you know what I mean? This is Klaus Mikaelson, he’s awful. He’s the poster child for the worst father that’s ever been and I like the fact that the writers aren’t shying from that.
They’re brazenly saying, “Here’s your hero. He’s the king of the kingdom that you love to watch and he’s a piece of s***.” I think you can retrofit these things with scenes of Klaus tucking his daughter in and I do think there’s a degree of passion and love there. Do I think she’s a priority? No.
They’ve written him in such a way that he’s so malevolent and so unpredictable that there’s just no way — the way they’ve designed the character — that he can represent anything safe or good to that child.
Whereas Elijah, I think, represents a degree of integrity and consistency. Elijah is himself a monster desperately trying to not be a monster. Of those two, I know which one I’d put the care and safety of my child into. When you look at these two brothers together, Klaus seems to be this evil guy where once in a while you see this hint of a want to be good, though it’s quickly dashes away. Then there’s Elijah. Though he’s a monster, he’s constantly striving to be good. Yet sometimes you see the evil side shine through.
I’m not even sure that I would call it evil. I think the barometer for evil has to alter significantly when talking about these guys. I have a friend who once described to me, it was a beautiful description of “The Originals.” He said it’s like Elijah and Klaus — and at the time Rebekah — are human beings that have been marooned on an island that has been entirely inhabited by chimpanzees.
There has to be a new type of morality. Human beings, for example, we’re atrocious. Even “good” people are murdering cows and sheep and chickens everyday and consuming. We’re taking too much power and we’re vulgar.
RELATED: ‘The Originals’ Daniel Gillies recognizes the Mikaelsons’ ‘end of days’
I think that when you’re talking about these guys, violence to them is like breathing or ordering a pizza. I think you have to understand that it’s much simpler for them because they know that there’s no real consequence. The only thing they’re protecting is their discretion and the ability to have their clandestine kingdom.
They don’t want to call attention to their violence. I think it’s a necessary evil. It’s a slight difference, but it is a difference. It’s something Elijah doesn’t mind unleashing if he feels people are behaving unjustly. Lastly, and this is a question a lot of fans have on their mind, what do you think about Elijah and Hayley becoming love interests. There’s a strong bond there — especially with Hope — but in your mind, can they become romantically involved?
Well, that’s a good question and it’s one only the writers can answer. I think, truthfully, as long as they’re around there’s a possibility of romantic entwinement.
The truth is, they’re already romantically involved. I think when you know you’re destined for someone, there’s always … they have tremendous energy for each other and I like that they don’t have to behave on those desires.
It’s a restraint. It’s a difficult one, but it’s the restraint against their love that makes viewers curious, not behaving upon the desire. We love it because they’re withholding. I wouldn’t mind if we held for another five seasons. [laughs] I’d be an old man by the time we’re done, but I wouldn’t mind if we held it for a long time.
RELATED: A ‘The Originals’-‘The Vampire Diaries’ crossover isn’t likely Keeping it from being fully consummated does stoke that fan fire of wanting to see it more and more. There’s also the times when you finally get the relationship you’ve been clamoring for and it doesn’t necessarily meet the hype.
That’s so true … I think the restraint is what makes things exciting.
“The Originals” airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

As if Aurora, Tristan and Lucien weren’t enough, I hear another shadow from the Original family’s past is coming back to haunt them in 2016. Be on the lookout for Cortez, a “callous, smart and manipulative” vampire with “little regard for human life.” Sounds like a hoot, no?

Following Aurora's (ambiguously fatal) attack on Cami, "Klaus is obviously incensed and is going to demand some major revenge," executive producer Michael Narducci says, which will lead to Klaus and Elijah "wreaking the kind of havoc the Mikaelson brothers are known for." (FYI: It'll take "a while" for Klaus to find out that Elijah agreed to secretly dagger Rebekah, so enjoy the brothers' partnership while it lasts.) Meanwhile, Hayley and Jackson will continue the fight to "save" their marriage against mounting obstacles, courtesy of the Mikaelson family, and Davina will once again — more successfully this time — reach out to Kol. The Original's Boss: Why Elijah & Finn Will Visit Mystic Falls, What's Next For Klaus & Hayley Posted by Samantha Benjamin at Monday, March 21, 2016 133 Comments The Originals
Thanks to A for the heads up
Klaus and Hayley aren't the only ones taking a break from New Orleans in an upcoming episode of "The Originals."
While The CW drama will be checking in on where Hope's hybrid mom and dad are in next Friday's episode, the following week – on the April 8 episode of "The Originals," titled "Behind the Black Horizon" – two members of the Mikaelson family are going to Mystic Falls.
And while they are there, they'll encounter a character from "The Vampire Diaries" – Matt Donovan (Zach Roerig).
"[I] know the fans -- they love the shared universe and they love to see that these characters still interact in the same big wide world and if Matt is interacting with Elijah -- that's a reminder that these characters still function in the same place," "The Originals" Executive Producer Michael Narducci told Access Hollywood. "For me, as a creator, what's really exciting is that Matt was the one who killed Finn in Season 3 with a white oak stake and so now it's Finn, who has recently been brought back through magic to rejoin his family, [who] is coming face-to-face with the guy who killed him. And I think that that's interesting and it's also interesting as a reminder that even though he's just a human being, Matt Donovan's a tough guy who, when push comes to shove, given the right weapons, can even take down an Original, so I thought that was pretty cool."

Ausiello: Well, Ash, let’s just say it’s a good thing the CW drama already has a fourth season, because the vamps are going to have a pretty big mess to clean up in the fall. Per executive producer Michael Narducci, “Everything the Mikaelsons are responsible for is coming home to roost. Not just Tristen, Aurora and Lucien — the first vampires they ever turned — but we’re also seeing what’s happening to the city that they’ve been exploiting over the past three seasons. How is the city going to react when the Mikaelsons become vulnerable? When you’ve dominated someone, then suddenly you have a vulnerability, the people are going to rise up.”

Originals Boss Talks Extended Season 4 Time Jump, Teases TVD's New Theme

Heads up, vampire enthusiasts: The following article requires you to do a little bit of math. (I know, I’m sorry.)
VIDEOSThe Originals‘ Phoebe Tonkin Ponders Hayley’s Season 4 Journey, Guesses Hope’s First Word
While fans of The Originals are justifiably disappointed that they’ll have to wait until early 2017 for their fix of Mikaelson madness, The CW’s decision to delay Season 4 actually worked in the show’s favor — at least as far as its timeline is concerned.
“When they shifted the air date, it actually gave us the freedom, weirdly, to shift the timeline in our favor so that we could have more time pass in The Originals between seasons than The Vampire Diaries,” executive producer Julie Plec explains to TVLine. “So we get to add an extra couple years on to our time lapse between seasons. It’s actually a good thing. It’s positive to not have to worry about being side by side.”
RELATEDPost Mortem: The Originals EP Talks Klaus’ ‘Definitive Loss,’ Hayley’s Season 4 Journey
As for TVD — which returns Friday, Oct. 21 at 8/7c — Plec says she’s “really excited” about Season 8’s theme, “which should become very clear the minute [The CW starts] announcing episode titles.” Sadly, that theme probably won’t involve the return of a certain ’90s-loving Gemini witch, much to Plec’s dismay.
“Every day in the writer’s room, we’re pitching Kai comeback ideas,” she says. “Maybe one day we’ll hit on a good one!”

On the bright side, Containment‘s Christina Moses will remain in the fold, playing a bisexual werewolf in The Originals‘ fourth season, while Kristen Gutoskie is joining The Vampire Diaries as the nanny of a pair of supernatural girls. Plec says her dream is “to be able to find ways to get [Containment‘s] George Young, Demetrius Bridges and Zach Unger somewhere into the Vampire/Originals universe.”
