The character is the sexually frisky lady friend of Oberyn Martell (aka the Red Viper), a part the show recently filled with Graceland‘s Pedro Pascal. The pair have four daughters together who — along with some of Martell’s other illegitimate offspring — are collectively known as the Sand Snakes.

Varma played Lucius’ wife Niobe on HBO’s Rome. Her other credits include Hunted, Human Target, Bones and Luther.

Game of Thrones started production on Season 4 this month; the fantasy series will return in 2014.

Russian "Game of Thrones" fans were in for a shock when they saw actress Emilia Clarke's image slapped on a Russian anti-rape political advertisement. In a campaign, which was backed by United Russia mayoral candidate Yakov Silin, held in the city of Yekaterinburg, 26-year-old Clarke is described as a local 24-year-old named "Anya" who is said to feel "safe" walking the city's streets.

The catch? The image was used without Clarke's permission, and the creators of the ad know it.

"We selected a famous and beautiful actress on purpose, to make it clear that this is a fantasy. ... Next time we will write more clearly. Sorry," the unnamed creators say, via Digital Spy. "Our internet post which was a fantasy with a photo of Emilia Clarke, famous for the TV series 'Game of Thrones,' has caused a strange resonance. We assure you, Daenerys Targaryen, in this case, is just a beautiful woman. We don't claim that we have her support, even though we would not be ashamed to show her Yekaterinburg after implementation of the 'Capital' program."

Clearly no one in Silin's political team is a fan of "Game of Thrones," or this ad might not have seen the light of day. Or maybe it would have, as it's certainly getting a lot of attention.

In the ad, which can be seen here, "Anya" says, "I suddenly noticed that for the last couple of years I'm not afraid to walk at night in Yekaterinburg. I now have confidence that the city is safe, that no-one will attack me or rape me. ... It's so cool. ... There are only few people on the streets, the streets have lights, the city is fresh and incredibly beautiful. Especially after it has been raining."

Clarke's representative has not responded to Zap2it's request for comment.

Following last season's brutally violent Red Wedding, HBO's Game of Thrones will present another colorful — and potentially tragic — marriage ceremony when Season 4 premieres in spring 2014.

"It's going to be the wedding of the year, and as memorable in its own way as our wedding last season," promises the books' author, George R.R. Martin, of the marriage of King Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson) and Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer). "It's what the fans call the Purple Wedding, based on the color of the wine, which plays a big part."

Martin says the wedding scenes "look spectacular. The bride's dress incorporates roses, there are 77 courses at the dinner feast, and there's some wonderful halftime entertainment."

As many fans already know, "Game of Thrones" is having another big wedding in the coming season. Just when viewers were finally getting over the events of the Red Wedding, Joffrey and Margaery will tie the knot in an event affectionately known as the Purple Wedding in Season 4.
The official "Game of Thrones" production blog reveals that filming on the Royal Wedding has wrapped. Even more exciting is the fact that this will be one of the biggest events in the series since Season 1.

"In terms of principal cast members in attendance, the Royal Wedding was one of the largest scenes we've filmed since the premiere season, with 23 named parts appearing on any given day," Cat Taylor writes on the blog. "In addition, we were delighted to welcome 218 extras as guests to the event, some of them travelling from the other side of Europe and the United States to be a part of the experience."

There were no spoilers written about the events of the Purple Wedding, but George R.R. Martin did tease the event in a recent interview with TV Guide. He even explains why it's called the "Purple Wedding" (though some fans might have different reasons).

"Game of Thrones" fans have by now learned that each season's biggest episode comes at episode 9, and Season 4 will be no different. But though a lot of talk has been about the Royal Wedding this season, Season 4's penultimate episode sounds like it will be set at Castle Black, as well as two other locations.

So though the Purple Wedding is supposed to be as excitement-filled as the Red one, that might not be the one that gets fans up in arms. Director Neil Marshall, who's helmed Season 2's "Blackwater," spoke with the Irish Film & Television Network about episode 9 in Season 4, which he says might be called "Castle Black."

"What I can say is that it's a huge episode -- a huge production. As far as I know the episode hasn't been named yet but someone online suggested it might be called 'Castle Black' but all I know is that it's called episode nine!" he says. "It's kind of the same as 'Blackwater', in a sense, in that these episodes are bigger than most of my films! They're on the same scale as something like 'Centurion', if not bigger."

He adds, "There are a few beheadings in there, as is my wont! And yeah, we got to blow some people up, set people on fire and do quite a few high falls. There's a lot of very physical action and a lot of fighting -- sword fights and physical fights. We pack quite a lot of stuff in there."
Just don't expect all of that stuff to happen at the same place. Marshall says, "The Castle Black episode has three different battles going on at the same time in different places, so it's a bit more complex from that point of view."

"Game of Thrones" Season 4 will premiere in Spring 2014.

myFanbase: Do you imagine her turning out more like a Cersei or more like a Catelyn?

Sophie Turner: The thing is that Cersei went through kind of the same thing in terms of Robert. Robert wasn't quite as mean to Cersei as Joffrey is to Sansa but she married into this family for political alliances. So, some people could say that Sansa could go down the Cersei way but I think Sansa — at least I hope for her sake — she'll stick to her mother's side, to Catelyn. Even in the clothes she wears you can see that's where she belongs. In season two and season three you see her reverting back to the northern clothing and I think every part of her wants to be her mother.

myFanbase: As a viewer the atmosphere in King's Landing looks horrible, but I imagine that when you're there with Lena Headey or Jack Gleeson it's not quite like that.

Sophie Turner: No, we have the most fun ever on set. Jack's just super nice and Lena is hilarious. She always puts on this Somerset accent, I don't know why. We kind of play it back and forth to each other and we have a really good relationship. Everyone is just so light-hearted on set and joking around all the time so nothing ever gets too depressing, even when it looks that way on screen.

Big "Game of Thrones" news came out of HBO's TCA 2014 winter press tour presentation. The cable network revealed that Season 4 of the fantasy series will premiere April 6 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Meanwhile, the first official trailer of "Game of Thrones" will premiere Sunday (Jan. 12) on HBO prior to the premiere of "True Detective" at 9 p.m. ET/PT. A very, very short first look was already released.

Season 3 of "Veep" will follow "Game of Thrones" on April 6 at 10 p.m. New comedy "Silicon Valley" will make its debut at 10:30 that night.

Meanwhile, "Vice" will premiere on March 14 at 11 p.m. PT/ET, "with no Dennis Rodman," HBO executive Michael Ellenberg joked at TCA.

Other HBO TCA announcements:

- The network is debuting the Sky Living comedy series "Doll & Em," which stars Emily Mortimer and Dolly Wells. The six-part, improvised miniseries will air on Sky Living on February in the U.K. and debut March 19 at 10 p.m. on HBO in the United States.

- A new John Leguizamo comedy special, called "Ghetto Klown," will debut on March 22 at 10 p.m. The Frances McDormand-Richard Jenkins miniseries "Olive Kitteridge," which recently completed filming, will premiere on HBO later in the year.

- "The Normal Heart," director Ryan Murphy's adaptation of Larry Kramer's play about the early years of the AIDS epidemic, is set to premiere in May.

In previous seasons of "Game of Thrones," it's been easy to consider Arya Stark a favorite character on the show. She's got spunk, she's got backbone, and she isn't afraid to speak her mind or pick up a sword to defend her family.

But something changed in Arya in Season 3. After she saw the Starks being slaughtered at the Twins and realized her mother and brother had been betrayed by Walder Frey and murdered, she closed off. She murdered Frey soldiers in cold blood in the Season 3 finale -- a move which shocked even her traveling companion, the Hound.

In Season 4, that darkness in Arya continues to grow. According to the actress who portrays her, Maisie Williams, Arya is "spiraling" after the events of Season 3, and her arc won't have happy results.

"She gets herself into a lot of sticky situations, but they're really good situations for her. Old Arya would be nervous about it and wouldn't push things as far as new Arya pushes them," Williams tells Zap2it. "She doesn't keep her mouth shut. She says a lot of things that old Arya wouldn't. You thought Arya was kind of outgoing and blunt, but the new Arya is just a lot less aware of that, almost, and isn't trying to be cheeky; [she] just purely doesn't care. I think that's the one thing to take away from Arya this year: She feels nothing. She's not happy, she's not sad, she's not grieving, she's not vengeful. She's just nothing."

She's also given up on trying to reunite with her family. One of Arya's main goals after she escaped King's Landing following the death of her father, Ned Stark, was to find Catelyn and Robb, or make it to the Wall with her half-brother Jon Snow. But she's done looking out for the rest of her family.

"She's completely given up on [reuniting with her family], and it almost feels like they've given up on her because she's like, where were they?" Williams says. "She's angry. She feels like she's the only one who's been trying. Where's the search party looking out for her? Why did no one recognize her? She's angry at the fact that she's trying so hard -- she was angry at the fact that she was trying so hard -- and she can't see any of it coming back.

"Where's Jon? Why has he not come back? And obviously no one knows [where she is], and there's reasons for that, but in her head [she's thinking] 'You're all being really, really selfish and I'm the only one, so now I've given up. Good luck, have fun, hope you don't die.' That's literally it. And she's like, I won't. I know I can do this, because look how far I've come already without you guys. Whereas you, I don't know you anymore. I tried to help you. I tried to get back with you, but [shrugs]."

That mindset might come as a shock to fans who considered Arya one of the characters on "Game of Thrones" they could continually root for. But Williams wants people to start seeing Arya for who she really is in Season 4.

"I don't want people to like her anymore, almost. That sounds really, really bad," Williams admits. "I want people to realize that actually she's not the same anymore. You can't root for her forever, because she's not there to be your favorite character. That's not what she's there for. She's real. People go down bad paths and they make bad decisions, but it's always justified in their head. I want the audience to differentiate that and not just be like, 'Oh, it's Arya, we love her.' Because actually look at what Arya's doing. She's being eaten away from the inside out, and she's not stopping it."

Williams compares Arya's downward spiral to that of a person who suddenly finds herself a drug addict without realizing the path she was on. "Arya's doing everything for the right reasons," Williams says. "She doesn't intend to be bad at all, but then killing anyone is bad. ... No one is born evil, it's just the choices that they make. And to you, they may seem like a bad thing to do -- this is Maisie speaking now, not Arya -- so she doesn't mean to become this bad person, this evil character. She's just doing what she has to do, almost, but that doesn't mean it's the right thing to do."

So could Arya one day become a villainous character on "Game of Thrones"? Williams thinks so.

"I think she is done," Williams says. "I'm so fed up of red carpets and being like, 'So this year Arya's trying to get back home. Oh, we start to see this change in Arya where actually she's more determined to get home.' I'm so done. I'm so fed up. Maisie as well. I don't want Arya to be looking out for anyone else apart from herself anymore, because she doesn't have to. No one else is. She's finally realizing that, in this world, if you want to win, then you do anything you can."

Westeros gets more crowded every year.

HBO’s Game of Thrones announced several additions to its already large cast at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, including Jonathan Pryce (the Pirates of the Caribbean films) and Alexander Siddig (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine).

Siddig, more recently seen in Da Vinci’s Demons, will play Doran Martell, the even-tempered ruling lord of Dorne and older brother to the late (sniff) Oberyn Martell.

Pryce’s role is the High Sparrow, a religious leader followed by large numbers of the poor and sick. He’s a man of the people who hates corruption… which means he’s going to get along famously with the Lannisters, right?

The fantasy drama also cast three of Oberyn’s bastard daughters, known to readers of George R.R. Martin’s novels as the Sand Snakes. Relative newcomer Rosabell Laurenti Sellers will play Tyene Sand, Keisha Castle-Hughes (Whale Rider) will play Obara Sand, and British actress Jessica Henwick will play Nym Sand.

In addition, Thrones‘ fifth season will feature newcomer Toby Sebastian as Doran’s son Trystane Martell, who is betrothed to Cersei’s daughter, Myrcella; DeObia Oparei (Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides) as Doran’s palace guard captain, Areo Hotah; and Enzo Cilenti (Rome) as a former slave trader who crosses paths with Daenerys.
The series also recast Myrcella, previously played by Aimee Richardson, with newcomer Nell Tiger Free.

ravenSeason 5 of Game of Thrones may not be over but preparations for season 6 are well under way, and casting season has begun! And the first casting breakdowns have found their way to our inbox, thanks to some great sources.

There’s a bit of a twist this year though. Since past role descriptions have leaked, the show has wised up and left the names off the write-ups this year.

But that’s not a problem for Game of Thrones fans, is it? We love a good casting puzzle. And some of these parts are obvious, even without the names.

Let the casting speculation begin!

The first role on the table is…

Pirate, man in his 40’s to late 50’s. He’s “an infamous pirate who has terrorized seas all around the world. Cunning, ruthless, with a touch of madness.”
He’s a dangerous-looking man. A very good part this season.

We’d heard unconfirmed rumors that Theon’s uncle Euron Greyjoy would be appearing in season 6, and this sounds like him, more than his brother Victarion.

Next up is the one I’m personally most excited about:

Father. Aged 50’s to 60’s, he’s one of the greatest soldiers in Westeros- a humorless martinet, severe and intimidating. He demands martial discipline in the field and in his home. It’s described as “a very good part” for next year and that he’s “centrally involved” in a protagonist’s storyline.

This is a clear description of Randyll Tarly, Sam’s abusive father and the famous soldier mentioned by Stannis Baratheon a couple episodes ago. Some had guessed the discussion might mean we’re seeing him next year, and they were right.

The next three characters appear to be linked to this storyline- most likely Sam’s mother, brother Dickon and one of his sisters. All have the same comment about being centrally involved in a protagonist’s storyline.

Mother, in her 50’s. She’s a sweet, plump, and adoring mother, and has a soft spot for one of her children who benefits from her decency.

Sister, in her early 20s. She’s a kind, friendly and unpretentious woman.

Brother, in his early to mid-20’s . Athletic, a good hunter, an excellent swordsman, manly, not particularly bright but the favourite child of the father.

Next up:

Priest, in his 40’s or 50’s. A gruff ex-soldier who found religion. Now a no-nonsense rural priest who ministers to the poor of the countryside. He’s salt-of-the-earth man who has weathered many battles.

Sounds like Septon Meribald, although it’s a little surprising we’d see him next year instead of this year. If it is him, that hints at someone surviving the season.

A few more roles:

Leading Actress, in her early 40’s, she’s an elegant actress with a traveling theatre company. Fun, charismatic, rum-drinking actress in the troupe.

Priestess. Mid-20’s to early 30’s. Any ethnicity- she’s beautiful, intense, and magnetic.

Fierce Warrior, a tall man in 30’s or 40’s with a powerful physique. They’re looking for someone with “mixed ethnicity” for the role.

They’re also searching for a trio of young boys with very specific descriptions. My instinct says another flashback- perhaps this time via the weirwood network?

A large boy, with an actor who is 10-12 but playing 7 or 8. He’s described as “a clever boy” who seems too large for his age. He’s big and tall but not fat. “Characterful squat features” are a plus for this part. it’s specified that this is a one-time appearance.

12 year old boy, with brown hair and blue eyes. He needs to use a Northern accent. He has scenes where he has to spar with a wooden sword.
The length of the role isn’t specified.

7 year old boy with dark brown hair, a narrow face and green eyes. He also has a Northern accent. He also spars with the wooden sword, so it’s safe to assume it’s the same scene. This role is similarly open-ended, the description only stating that the character is being ‘introduced.’

It’s worth noting that Sean Bean has green eyes, so if this is for a flashback role, the write-up would be a good fit for a child Ned.

Certains l’avaient complétement oublié, d’autres se demandaient ce que pouvait bien faire ce personnage estropié, mais nous sommes maintenant fixés: Bran Stark revient dans la saison 6 de Game Of Thrones et nous allons enfin pouvoir apprendre ce qu’est devenu l’un des derniers Stark encore en service!
Game Of Thrones: Bran sera « fascinant »!

C’est au cours d’une interview pour le Irish Examiner que l’acteur Isaac Hempstead Wright a confirmé qu’il serait de retour l’année prochaine et commençait le tournage à la fin du mois de Juillet.

« Je ne peux pas dire grand-chose, mais je suis de retour cette saison, et elle sera particulièrement intéressante pour Bran. Il va avoir quelques scènes fascinantes. »

L’acteur a également parlé de la situation de Jon Snow au cours de la saison 5 de Game Of Thrones, joué par l’acteur Kit Harington. « Je ne sais pas (si il reviendra). Il a dit que non. Je voudrais qu’il revienne parce que j’aime Kit et parce que le personnage est tellement cool! Mais qui sait? Nous allons commencer le tournage de la sixième saison plus tard ce mois (Juillet), donc nous verrons », a t-il dit.

Game Of Thrones: une différence livre/série?

Attention pour les non-lecteurs des romans de George R.R. Martin, ce qui suit pourrait comprendre quelques spoilers! Allez, c’est parti!

Nous avions laissé Bran Stark au cours de la saison 4 de Game Of Thrones devant « la corneille à trois yeux » qui était en fait la réincarnation d’un vieux sage pouvant voyager dans les animaux et la nature. Bran a appris à développer ce pouvoir également et, dans les romans, finira par prendre la place de la corneille à trois yeux. De ce fait, il entrera dans l’arbre devant lequel il se trouve dans la saison 4 pour pouvoir étendre son pouvoir. Grâce aux pouvoirs de « l’arbre de vie », Bran pourra déplacer son esprit dans tous les animaux de Westeros et ailleurs, mais le plus intéressant est qu’il pourra aussi le faire dans les arbres.

Sachant que certains arbres sont millénaires, il pourra remonter le temps et tout observer depuis l’arbre qu’il incarne. Il apprendra donc l’histoire de Westeros et apprendra également des choses mettant tout le royaume sans dessus dessous. En pouvant voyager dans le temps en retraçant la vie des végétaux qu’il incarne, Bran apprendra les plus sombres secrets de Westeros. Mais qu’en fera-t-il?

Quelques jours seulement après la confirmation de la mort de Stannis Baratheon par le réalisateur David Nutter, c’est au tour de Gwendoline Christie alias Brienne de Torth dans Game of Thrones de confirmer la nouvelle!
Game of Thrones: Brienne confirme les dires du réalisateur

Il y a quelques jours, le réalisateur David Nutter confirmait la mort de Stannis Baratheon: en effet, si tout les regards sont portés vers la mort ( ou non) de Jon Snow, d’autres interrogations fusaient jusqu’alors sur le sort réservé à Stannis Baratheon. Si on le voit en mauvaise posture sous l’épée de Brienne de Torthn la scène de sa mort en elle même n’est pas montrée à l’écran, laissant depuis place aux spéculations. Alors Stannis est t-il mort ou non? en deux phrases, son sort a été fixé de la manière la plus implacacble par le réalisateur de l’épisode final de la saison 5 de Game of Thrones, David Nutter: « Dès le début, et c’était dans le script, l’intention était bien de le tuer. Il est mort. ». Et l’information vient d’être confirmée non sans humour par Gwendoline Christie alias Brienne dans la série: « Je ne peux pas vous expliquer pourquoi sa mort n’a pas été montrée à l’écran, parce que je n’écris pas et je ne réalise pas la série… Pas encore en tout cas! »
Game of Thrones: a quand une confirmation pour Jon Snow?

Un sort est désormais fixé dans la série: qu’on l’aime ou qu’on le déteste (l’option 2 est plus facilement envisageable) on ne retrouvera donc pas Stannis dans la saison 6 de Game of Thrones, et nos espoirs viennent donc d’être anéantis à deux reprises:« Non, mais comment pouvez douter de Brienne ? Vous croyez que je faisais quoi là-bas avec Stannis ? Que je lui coupais les cheveux ? » ajoute Gwendoline Christie. En effet, connaissant le désir de vengeance de cette dernière et ses griefs contre Stannis, ce dernier avait peu de chance d’échapper au coup d’épée fatal de Brienne! les pretendants au trone de fer tombent donc comme des mouches, et nous n’avons plus qu’a attendre la confirmation du sort de Jon Snow pour rayer un nouveau prétendant de la liste. Décidément, il fait peu bon vivre quand on est un acteur de Game of Thrones…

Synopsis

Il y a très longtemps, à une époque oubliée, une force a détruit l’équilibre des saisons. Dans un pays où l’été peut durer plusieurs années et l’hiver toute une vie, des forces sinistres et surnaturelles se pressent aux portes du Royaume des Sept Couronnes. La confrérie de la Garde de Nuit, protégeant le Royaume de toute créature pouvant provenir d’au-delà du Mur protecteur, n’a plus les ressources nécessaires pour assurer la sécurité de tous. Après un été de dix années, un hiver rigoureux s’abat sur le Royaume avec la promesse d’un avenir des plus sombres. Pendant ce temps, complots et rivalités se jouent sur le continent pour s’emparer du Trône de Fer, le symbole du pouvoir absolu. Daenerys Targaryen et Thyrion Lannister se retrouvent à faire équipe et se dirigent vers le trône de fer. Mais la menace des Marcheurs Blancs plane sur Westeros.
Dernières infos

– Dans une interview accordée à Digital Spy, Nathalie Emmanuel – qui incarne Missandreï – annonce de nombreuses surprises pour la saison à venir: « Cette saison va définitivement avoir beaucoup de grands moments, on peut le sentir dès le début. Les fans vont soudainement voir encore plus de personnages interagir avec des personnages qu’ils n’avaient, jusqu’à présent, pas vu ensemble. Nous avions déjà un peu de cela dans la saison précédente, mais cela va prendre un petit peu d’ampleur dans la saison 6, donc c’est vraiment enthousiasmant. »

– Et si le limier était de retour pour la saison 6? C’est ce que laisse à penser la présence de Rory McCann, l’acteur jouant Sandor Clegane, proche de l’hôtel de l’équipe de tournage en Irlande. Une possibilité qui pourrait ravir les fans, sans nouvelle du Limier, depuis la fin de la saison 4. Pour rappel, il avait été laissé pour mort par Arya Stark, après un combat très intense contre Brienne de Torth. Autre possibilité, l’acteur pourrait jouer des scènes de flashbacks.

– Et si Dean-Charles Chapman (Tommen Baratheon) et Nell Tiger Free (Myrcella Baratheon) étaient en couple? C’est la grosse rumeur du moment, suite aux publications des acteurs de photos ensemble sur leurs pages Instagram, avec quelques commentaires implicites, comme « Mon mec ressemble à un serial killer », posté sur Twitter en-dessous d’une photo par Nell Tiger Free. Une nouvelle cocasse, sachant que dans la série, les deux acteurs sont frères et soeurs et nés d’une relation incestueuse entre Jaime et Cersei Lannister. Mais dans la réalité, rassurez-vous! Il n’y a aucun lien de parenté entre les deux intéressés.

– Kristian Nairn, alias Hodor dans Game of Thrones, est revenu sur l’origine de son personnage lors d’une interview accordée au Huffington Post, évoquant la légende scandinave: « Le dieu scandinave de l’hiver s’appelle Höðr en vieux norrois. George RR Martin utilise bien souvent la mythologie nordique dans son récit. Il fait rarement les choses au hasard. Hodor pourrait par exemple faire partie de ce ‘Winter is coming’, des White Walkers et être relié à eux d’une façon ou d’une autre. Ou alors, Hodor a été traumatisé et il a vu quelque chose dans la crypte de Winterfell, qui fait qu’il n’arrive plus à dire que ce mot-là. » Plusieurs théories fleurissent sur le net et celle qui revient le plus souvent est celle d’Hodor en Dieu du froid et de l’obscurité, ennemi de R’hllor, le dieu rouge de Melisandre.

– Le site BelfastLive vient de dévoiler des nouvelles photos du tournage, et plus particulièrement d’une scène d’Arya Stark. On voit l’actrice Maisie Williams se glisser peu à peu dans l’eau d’un petit port de Belfast, en Irlande du Nord. On ignore si son personnage aura encore la faculté de voir, après ses épreuves avec les Sans-Visages. Vous pouvez découvrir les photos en bas de la page.

– Un nouveau lieu vient d’être dévoilé par la production. Il s’agit du château de Zafra, dans le sud-ouest de l’Espagne, qui représentera la Tour de la Joie. Un lieu situé au Sud de Westeros, où se déroulera une scène flashback: une bataille avec le légendaire guerrier Ser Arthur Dayne. Rhaegar Targaryen et Lyanna Stark étaient présents à la Tour de la Joie au moment de cette bataille. Une scène qui sera primordiale dans la prochaine saison.

– George R.R.Martin, l’auteur de Game of Thrones, a annoncé que la fin de la saga serait douce et amère. Dans une interview accordée à l’hebdomadaire britannique The Observer, il précise: « Je ne l’ai pas encore écrite, la fin, mais a priori, mon idée n’est pas de faire une fin où tout le monde est perdant. Ce n’est certainement pas mon intention. ». L’auteur américain en a également profité pour rendre hommage à Tolkien, évoquant une fin proche de celle du Seigneur des anneaux: « Ce n’est pas un secret, Tolkien a eu une énorme influence sur moi. J’adore la façon dont il a fini Le Seigneur des Anneaux. Sa saga se termine par une victoire, mais une victoire douce. Frodon ne se remet jamais complètement de son périple et part vers les Terres Immortelles. Et les autres gens reprennent leur vie ».

– Ned Stark revient pour la saison 6! Le jeune acteur anglais Sebastien Croft incarnera le patriarche de la famille Stark lors de son enfance. Des sessions de flashbacks sont à prévoir. Sebastien Croft répondant en tout point aux exigences de la production, tout laisse à croire qu’il aura pour mission de dévoiler des traits de la jeunesse de Ned Stark, précédemment incarné par Sean Bean. Un premier rôle prestigieux pour ce jeune acteur qui a déjà joué dans plusieurs comédies musicales, comme Misérables à Oliver ou The Secret Diary of Adrien Mole aged 13 3/4.

– Alors que le tome 6 de la saga, intitulé Winds of Winter sortira en mars 2016, George R.R. Martin a annoncé qu’il était « fatigué et accablé » par l’insistance de certains fans et des médias. Lors d’une interview à l’occasion d’une visite dans les camps d’entrainement de la NFL à New York, l’auteur de Game of Thrones a tenu à rappeler qu’il était le seul à écrire sur la saga: « Il y a beaucoup de gens qui travaillent sur une série TV, beaucoup de gens de talents, mais je suis le seul à écrire les livres. Winds of Winter est attendu avec impatience, surtout depuis que la série a épuisé quasiment tout le matériel disponible des romans. ».

– Ricky Champ et Eddie Jackson seront au casting de la saison 6. Le premier interprètera un hors-la-loi manipulateur et voleur, du nom de Flynn. Cet Anglais a notamment joué dans les films Le dernier pub avant la fin du monde, la comédie Him & Her ou encore Charlie Mortdecai plus récemment. Quant à Eddie Jackson, il s’agit d’un habitué des séries puisqu’il a déjà joué dans House of Cards, Vikings et The Guards.

– Emilia Clarke, l’actrice qui joue le rôle de Daenerys Targaryen, a laissé entendre que la saison 6 sera violente et très mouvementée, dans une interview accordée au Los Angeles Time. « J’ai lu les scripts de la saison prochaine… Mwuah ! ha ! ha ! Je sais tout, absolument tout, et c’est vraiment excitant ! J’ai hâte de voir toute la saison. Ça va démarrer à fond dès le premier épisode. D’habitude, on nous rappelle un peu les choses au début de chaque saison, comme les noms ou les événements passés afin de bien tout remettre en place dans l’esprit des téléspectateurs. Mais cette saison sera complètement différente, chaque épisode sera intense et il se passera toujours quelque chose d’encore plus incroyable dans le suivant ».

– Kit Harrington a été aperçu sur le tournage de la saison 6 en Irlande du Nord, à l’aéroport de Belfast. On ne sait pas dans quel registre l’acteur jouera son personnage de Jon Snow. Peut-être des scènes de flashbacks…ou bien un retour du commandant de la garde de Nuit, comme l’espèrent de nombreux fans.

– Le président de la chaîne américaine HBO, Michael Lombardo, qui produit et diffuse Game of Thrones, a annoncé qu’il y aurait une huitième saison, actuellement en cours de production. « Les producteurs ont le sentiment qu’il va falloir encore deux saisons après la sixième. J’adorerais changer leur avis à ce propos, mais c’est ce que l’on s’attend à avoir maintenant »

– Ian McShane, l’acteur britannique de 72 ans connu pour avoir joué dans Deadwood et Pirate des Caraïbes: la Fontaine de Jouvence, sera au casting de la saison 6. Il occupera un petit rôle « primordial » selon le magazine Variety. On ne sait pas encore précisément qui incarnera l’acteur, mais il s’agirait d’un personnage inédit, y compris parmi les livres de Georges Martin. Il serait question soit d’un prêtre, d’un un guerrier ou encore d’un pirate.

– Max von Sydow, l’acteur franco-suédois de 86 ans, connu pour avoir joué dans L’Exorciste, Minority Report et Shutter Island, incarnera la corneille à trois yeux dans la saison 6 de Game of Thrones. Un personnage mystérieux allié à Bran Stark, qui devrait être une figure-clé de cette future saison. La corneille à trois yeux avait été aperçue dans la saison 4. C’était Struan Rodger qui interprétait le rôle.

Over the last few months, a fun cat-and-mouse game has taken place between actor Kit Harington and “Game of Thrones” fans worldwide. It all began with the final breath of Jon Snow, following a shocking scene in which he was betrayed by his Night’s Watch compatriots and more repeatedly, fatally wounded than Chef and Ricardo Monatlban combined. Still, the question was asked: Is he really dead?

HBO insisted he was; co-star Maisie Williams cast doubt on conspiracy theorists; petitions were circulated and the most insanely insignificant clues were analyzed. Amanda Peet even threatened to divorce her husband, show producer David Benioff, if he let the popular character perish. Now, a new photo seems to finally tell the truth.

A paparazzi photo from the Belfast set of the now-filming next season of “Thrones” shows Harington in costume, with a sword on his hip. Which would seem to indicate very, very strongly that the actor isn’t just hanging around visiting his old pals between takes.

Once you get past the question of whether he’ll come back — and make no mistake, this picture shows that “Thrones” intends to show us more Jon Snow — that’s when things get interesting. Harington is no longer wearing the all-black garb of a Night’s Watch Lord Commander, and now seems to be dressed in … the clothes of House Stark? So, if he has come back from the dead, he seems to have changed his clothes to become a more in-touch-with-his-roots White Walker or whatever he is now.

Taking things one step further, in a wider shot of the same image you can see a woman sitting nearby under an umbrella. That woman is believed to be Carice van Houten, who plays Lady Melisandre, the Red Witch widely suspected by fans to be a possible source of Jon Snow’s return to life.

But then again, that might not be van Houten under the umbrella. Harington could, conceivably, be dressed in House Stark clothes to film a flashback scene. And if he was indeed resurrected as a zombie-like White Walker, wouldn’t Harington be … white all over? “Game of Thrones” will most likely return to HBO sometime in 2016, and at that time we can all finally get a real answer; until then, as Eddard Stark might say, let’s not lose our heads.

Kit Harrington, who insisted all summer long that Jon Snow was dead, was spotted filming on the set of Game of Thrones' sixth season. But what's more intriguing than the fact that Jon Snow is alive, is the fact that he isn't wearing the black of the Night's Watch.

Snow has apparently traded in his Night's Watch armor for that of the Starks, suggesting that Snow will forsake his Watch brothers and reclaim his Stark heritage. That would fall perfectly in line with the expected flashback to the Tower of Joy, which will hopefully reveal who Jon's true parents are. And if Snow leaves the Watch, it would allow him to rally the remaining Stark loyalists in a battle against the Boltons, who are currently ruling over the North from Jon's family home Winterfell.

Oops! Kit Harrington may have revealed Jon Snow's fate

As to how Jon Snow rises from the dead, it's speculated that the woman under the umbrella in the photo is Carice Van Houten, who plays the powerful priestess Melissandre. The Red Woman became very interested in Snow last season, and it's not much of a stretch to believe that she would resurrect Snow under the assumption he may be the prophesized Azor Ahai.
