Untouchable (Flack Fic)

Chapter One - When You're Gone

Detective Don Flack was walking along the path as he headed home after shift at NYPD, he had been through a lot over the past few months and he wondered if the time was right to maybe move on and attempt to find love again, but Don had no idea that he was gonna find a new love but it remained to be seen.

Don had hoped to maybe find love again but he just had no idea when or how he'd meet someone, but he looked around and found someone being attacked, he went over and grabbed the perp by the scruff of the neck and tossed him hard to the ground, he called in the accident and he helped the victim to stand, before he took her over to Queen Of Mercy Hospital to be treated for her injuries and Don went to check if she was ok, Don found her over by the window, he saw the injuries that she'd sustained in the attack, it made him feel sick to see what had happened to her.

"I wanted to see how you were doing after what happened", Don said, as Izzy looked around, Don knew that they looked bad, when Izzy then said, "I want to thank you for saving my life", Don smiled in reply when Izzy then gave him a thank you kiss, which Don returned and kissed her back, before his hands wrapped around her waist gently as they kissed, Don held her close to him at the same time, Don smiled as they then broke apart, but Don's hands lingered on her waist for a few seconds. Izzy allowed him to hold her, she felt safe with him, even though she hardly knew him that well anyway.

Izzy let Don hold her close, she felt that he was the only one she could trust to keep her safe and protected from the attacker, who now was being grilled by Mac Taylor and Jo Danville back at NYPD and the perp was so spiteful about why he'd hurt her like this, Don wanted to protect her from bad stuff, he just had to hope that she would allowe him to keep her safe, he would feel bad if he didn't protect her.

Izzy remained close to Don, she looked up into his blue eyes and she nuzzled closer to him, Don smiled as he held her close to him, he knew that he had to look after her, he had no idea that she was the one he was meant to meet, but for now he'd promise to take care of her, not knowing what the team would find out back at the lab regarding Izzy and Jo.

Izzy allowed Don to keep her safe, she did not know that they were destined to meet and be together, Izzy wondered if she and Don had what it took to be happy together, Izzy just hoped that she would be happy with Don, but she had to hope that he wanted her in the same way, Don looked to Izzy, then said "I'm gonna keep you safe, I promise", when Izzy smiled then she kissed him softly as he kissed her back, Don smiled as they kissed each other, he had to keep her safe from harm, Izzy allowed him to keep her safe.

Don kept a close eye on her, when unbeknown to either of them, the team had found out that Izzy was Jo's daughter and when Jo confessed the truth about Izzy to the team, they were shocked and neither knew how to tell Izzy the truth, Jo didn't want her to know just yet, the team accepted Jo's wishes for now, but they knew that it would all come out at some stage, until then it was remaining secret for now.

Don stayed with Izzy until she was allowed out and she stayed at Don's place for a while and Izzy didn't mind staying with Don at his place and onceIzzy was at Don's apartment in Manhattan, she instantly felt safe there, Izzy sat beside Don on the sofa and she nuzzled in close to him, he wrapped both arms around her and softly kissed her, when Izzy kissed him back, the kiss between them was starting to get passionate between them, Don took her by the hand and lead her to his bedroom, he asked her if this was what she wanted and Izzy nodded in reply to Don's question, he smiled knowing that she wanted the same as he did, Don cared about her and wanted her to feel safe with him.

As Don and Izzy had protected sex for the first time together, Don was unaware that the condom would break and Don didn't realise this either and afterwards, Don went to the bathroom to remove it and he got back into bed beside Izzy, who nuzzled in close to him, Don wrapped both arms around her and placed a tender kiss on her forehead before they fell asleep together in the warmth of Don's bed alone together.

Even as Don and Izzy slept together, neither knew of the shock that would be revealed when neither was expecting it, Don just wanted Izzy to be happy with him, with or without Jo's approval, it was up to Izzy and Don to be happy together, Izzy entrusted her life to Don, he knew that she trusted him and he hoped that he was good enough for her and Don noticed that she'd fallen asleep on his chest, Don smiled knowing that she was in his arms and safe.
