Supernatural Comic-Con Panel: The Cast and Producers Tease Season 11
by Clarissa / July 12, 2015 4271606 Supernatural
How will the Winchester brothers escape the ancient evil that was unleashed in the season 10 finale of Supernatural? What will Rowena do with her newfound dark spellbook? And will Castiel kill Crowley under the power of Rowena’s spell?
Supernatural stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, Mark Sheppard and Misha Collins — along with executive producers Jeremy Carver and Andrew Dabb — took to the Hall H stage at San Diego Comic-Con to answer all of these questions and more in anticipation of season 11 of the show.
11:21 AM – In a surprise move, former guest stars Rob Benedict and Richard Speight Jr. are moderating the panel. They’re buttering up Jeremy Carver in hopes that he’ll invite them to come back to the show.
11:25 AM – The cast is introduced to a great deal of applause. Before the panel, Mark had put a little Crowley Funko doll in front of each cast members’ seat. Upon seeing it, Jensen threw it over his shoulder.
11:27 AM – What’s up with the Darkness? Jeremy says that they’re really proud of last season and they had a lot of intensely personal character stories. In season 11 they’re going back to more of an “epic feel” with a big bad and a quest for the brothers to unite on. He thinks they have a pretty special big bad for this year. It’s a pre-biblical story that’s never been told. Most importantly “I feel like the brothers are going to be really, really united” in defeating the Darkness.
11:29 AM – How will the brothers respond? “I think we’ll beat it. Because we’re not the Lose-chesters,” Jared joked. He also said that he’s excited to see the boys working together again.
11:31 AM – “Now we’re left with the clean-up” after getting rid of the Mark of Cain, said Jensen. What he likes about where they’re going is “the brothers are united, similar to the way they were in season 1 when we were looking for dad”. “We’re back to normal and we have a common target”. Jeremy cut in to say that he wanted to qualify what Jensen said with ” – ish”.
11:35 AM – Misha joked that having his recent fight scene with Mark was “really satisfying”.
11:38 AM – They brought out a surprise guest — the stuffed hamster Mark worked with as Crowley, with Rich voicing him. “That was the best and kindest actor that I worked with in ten seasons,” Mark said. The whole panel was in stitches.
11:42 AM – The show has done theme episodes in the past, but will they do one again in season 11? Andrew says that episode 4 will be in the same vein and should be fun.
11:43 AM – Any fan favorite characters coming back? “They’re coming back in surprise ways,” Jeremy confirms, but didn’t want to provide more details.
11:44 AM – Though the Mark of Cain is gone, they’re dealing with something bigger and badder but “maybe I haven’t said it yet, we’re not the Lose-chesters,” Jared joked again. “We’re slowly becoming the Lose-chesters,” Jensen cut in.
11:45 AM – Will Cas be part of the alliance who will defeat the new big bad? “We know Castiel isn’t really a fan favorite, so he’s not really involved,” Dabb joked.
11:48 AM – What’s it like when Jensen directs Jared? “He’s taller than you,” Rob said. “After ten years of playing these characters and knowing the story, there is an ease in having to direct the main cast. Unless it’s Misha, then you really kind of have to reign him in a bit. Jared knows the character so well, Mark knows the character so well, Misha is still working on it,” Jensen said.
11:54 AM – Mark says that Supernatural has been an amazing journey for him.
11:55 AM – What Jensen liked the most about playing Demon Dean was that Dean didn’t care about anything, but the tough part is that it changes the relationship on the screen with all of the other characters.
11:57 AM – Why did they decide to kill Charlie? Jeremy said that you have a favorite a character on the show, people die on the show. She’s beloved on the show, but in the writers’ room “we have to go where the story takes us”. On the show, pretty much everyone dies at one point or another — it’s horrible and sad and dramatic.
12:05 PM – Favorite scenes to film in season 10? Jensen: the fight scene with Cain (and then he praised Tim Omundson). He was very banged up after that scene, but “those are the kind of markings I wear with pride”. Jared: “I loved the finale. I loved the [brothers] showdown. There was so much heart in the dialogue that was written that it really struck a cord with me.” Misha: liked closing out Jimmy Novak’s storyline and getting to see him in Heaven. Mark: “I had a lot of mummy issues this year.” He liked that it was a different exploration of the character and praised Ruth. He also loved the guy who played Gerald and thought he was hilarious. Andrew: he wrote a lot for Demon Dean and really enjoyed that. Jeremy: he loved the Crowley-Rowena dynamic.
12:09 PM – Favorite season 10 episode? Jeremy: he was proud of what everyone did on the 200th episode. Jared and Jensen concurred, although Jensen also said he liked the episode that he directed last year where Demon Dean got cured and was chasing Sam around the bunker.
12:15 PM – The panel has concluded, but stay tuned for news from the Supernatural press room.
Supernatural will return for its eleventh season on Wednesday, October 7 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

Will we learn what Metatron did with the demon tablet on Supernatural? — Alien Knights of Chaos
I can’t speak specifically to the demon tablet, but it’s highly likely the guys will find themselves asking for Metatron’s help yet again. While discussing how the Darkness predates the Bible — and therefore there’s not much written about it — Jared Padalecki says that Sam and Dean are going to seek any and all help they can get. “We’re going to have to maybe go to Metatron for help or Castiel, and we don’t even know what they know because the Darkness predates them as well,” he says. But rest assured, “We’re going to see the boys really stop at no end to right this wrong they’ve brought onto this Earth.”

Jared Padalecki talks God in Supernatural season 11: 'We may have to invite him along for the ride'
Posted August 26 2015 — 11:47 AM EDT
Ever since season 5 of Supernatural ended with Lucifer falling into the cage, fans have been waiting for the possible return of one of the series’ greatest villains. And yet, there’s one return they’ve been waiting for even longer. In fact, it’s less of a return and more of an arrival: God. Related Jensen Ackles found his original Impala on the 'Supernatural' set 'Supernatural' star Jared Padalecki thanks fans for moving Comic-Con tribute
Of course, many fans believe that Chuck — played by Rob Benedict — is the big man upstairs, but he’s yet to make a definitive appearance as such. But thanks to the arrival of the Darkness in the show’s upcoming eleventh season, there’s a possibility fans could get what they’ve been waiting for.
Because the Darkness is a pre-Biblical entity that God fought off many, many, many years ago, there’s a good chance the brothers will need God’s help to figure out how to defeat it. There’s also the chance that they’ll have to turn to Lucifer. Basically, at this point, nothing’s off limits.
“I think [the Darkness] certainly opens the door for Lucifer and/or God to pop up,” Jared Padalecki said. ”We’re certainly going back to that and going a bit more biblical and having our take on the writings that didn’t make it into the Bible.”
And while we know that this could mean that Sam and Dean might have to turn to Metatron, even Metatron’s knowledge isn’t a match for God. As Padalecki put it, “Since we know God’s a scribe, we may have to invite him along for the ride.”
So … who’s ready for a road trip?
Supernatural returns Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.

NEWS/ Warning, Supernatural's Season 11 Promo Is Here and It's Super-Bloody—and Has an Epic Ghostbusters Reference!
par Tierney Bricker | Traduit par Tierney Bricker le 9/9/2015 - à 13h00
The boys are back...and we couldn't be more excited for their return. Supernatural's 11th season premiere is less than a month away, finally bringing another helliatus to an end. But be careful what you wish for as E! News has your exclusive first look at Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean's (Jensen Ackles) return on Oct. 7, and it's bloody. Like, really bloody.
Judging from the brand-new promo above, which features your first look at new footage, things are getting super-dark on the longrunning CW hit, thanks to, you know, The Darkness taking over at the end of the season 10 finale. "Dark. Darker. Darkess," the video warns of what's ahead. And if that isn't enough, we get glimpses of Sam and Castiel (Misha Collins) both being tortured. No wonder Sam is turning to God for help. CLICK: Jensen Ackles opens up about Dean's "rare" storyline
Supernatural PosterSupernatural Poster
At least fans can look forward to Sam and Dean coming back together after spending most of season 10 at odds. "We have more of an epic feel with a Big Bad, and a quest for the brothers to unite on," showrunner Jeremy Carver teased at Comic-Con. "I think it's a special Big Bad we have this year. It's a pre-biblical story that's never been told. I think it's going to be a fun, epic feel. And most importantly, I think the brothers are going to be united in their need to take this thing down."
Another thing fans can look forward to? The return of Dean's snark, as he makes an amazing Ghostbusters reference in the promo above.
To go along with the exclusive promo above, the CW hit also released a brand-new poster for season 11, teasing the Winchester boys' latest struggle. "The boys are caught between darkness and deliverance," the poster, which also features Cas and Crowley (Mark A. Sheppard), warns. Yes, Crowley is back, even though Sheppard said he was "pretty dead." Phew!
Season 11 of Supernatural premieres Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. on the CW.

SUPERNATURAL
The Winchesters will need all the help they can get battling The Darkness, which brings us to Season 11's theme: "You can't outrun your past." Dean and Sam "have to make some unexpected and unholy alliances involving folks from their past, which will have personal ramifications," exec producer Jeremy Carver reveals. Will any of said people be fan faves who died? "We're talking about a fight that is going to incorporate the likes of Heaven and Hell and those on Earth. So there's certainly opportunity to see folks that have departed," the EP replies. Perhaps one of them can provide some answers, because "there's a lot of mystery to not only what or who The Darkness is" – maybe it's a she? – "but what The Darkness wants," Carver says. And while Castiel will be working alongside the brothers, he first needs to "find a way out of this spell that Rowena has cast."
BONUS SPOILER!: Praise be! "We're going to see more of a vintage Crowley in terms of scheming, less caring about Dean and Sam," Carver shares.

‘Supernatural’: Sam asks for God’s help in Season 11 trailer by Megan Vick at 03:09 PM on Sep 9, 2015
The Darkness will leave its mark on “Supernatural” Season 11, according to the new trailer.
After unleashing the dark force that once blanketed the universe in the Season 10 finale, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) must find a way to once again fix what they have broken. Sam goes back to the guy that was able to contain the Darkness the first time around — God — and asks for his help to fix the giant mess the boys are in.
RELATED: Misha Collins was mugged, but he’s ‘totally fine’
In the meantime Castiel (Misha Collins) continues his demon angel rampage. The results of his throwdown with Crowley (Mark Sheppard) are shown and the King of Hell is down for the count –temporarily. He will find a way to resurrect himself just in time to give the boys serious lip about the havoc they’ve caused, and to mock the Darkness for its “ridiculous” name.
While the boys are back together and fighting on the same page, the new trailer reveals that this will still be a dark season for the Winchesters and the Darkness may be their toughest fight yet.
The big question, of course, is will God return to help them? “Supernatural” Season 11 kicks off on Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The Winchester brothers have been fighting off evil since before they could walk or talk — just ask Sam, who met his first demon when he was six months old. But when Supernatural returns for season 11, there’s a new kind of monster in town: the Darkness, which enveloped the brothers at the end of season 10.
Related 'Supernatural': Will God appear in season 11? 'Supernatural' recap: 'Brother's Keeper' From what we know of the Darkness, it’s a prebiblical entity that will appear to the brothers in the form of one person, and more than likely, that person will be a woman. We also know that the “prebiblical” element of the Darkness could lead the boys to need God’s help.
For everything else, we asked what you all wanted to know, and then took your questions right to stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki. Here’s what they had to say about what lies ahead (or beneath or whatever):
What will the dynamic of their relationship be like this season? —@kitty_kat2015 JENSEN ACKLES: Once again we find Sam and Dean in the threshold of some earth-shattering, catastrophic, apocalyptic event. This is a story that predates the bibical Revelations, so it’s something they have never dealt with. What that does as far as the dynamic goes is it puts them back in the car on the same team together, having one target and being unified in that mission. JARED PADALECKI: I think a lot of the fandom is going to be happy to learn that we’re finally accepting the fact that we’re stronger together than apart. And this far into the season, they’re certainly acting on that and I like it, personally. I am a brother and I have a big brother and Jensen is a brother, so I like the dynamic and I like the story that we’re able to tell with the brothers working together.
Does this season remind you of any past seasons? —@TVDSweetness ACKLES: It’s a bit of a throwback to maybe season 1 or season 2, when the brothers were fighting less with each other and fighting more for humanity as a team. Because over the years there’s been a flip-flop of Sam being afflicted and Dean doing everything he can to save his brother, and then the next year, Dean makes some terrible choice like the Mark of Cain and then it’s Sam trying to do everything he can to save his brother. We’ve done that now. The brothers have been saved; the Mark is gone. And now they’ve kind of unleashed this unknown entity and they’ve got to team up and pool their resources and figure out how they’re going to deal with it. PADALECKI: It feels season 4-ish, where we’re fighting against something that’s so much bigger than we are. The boys are always fighting against something so grand and something so beyond themselves that I guess it has a little bit of a lot of seasons, but maybe even season 5. It’s the boys realizing that they can’t do this on their own, and they’re going to have to reach out to get all the help they can get.
Will Dean be bonded somehow with the Darkness since he was the bearer of the Mark? —@AcklesUniverse ACKLES: Because of the time that he spent with the Mark, there is certainly an imprint left on Dean. It certainly pulls on some sort of strings inside him that he doesn’t understand why. He’s not necessarily drawn to it or affected by it but there’s something that resonates with Dean regarding the Mark because he was afflicted with it for so long that it did leave an impression on him. So now there is that kind of connection that only he can have and he can understand, so that is going to be something that he’s going to find himself faced with and struggle with.
Also, he killed Death in the finale. What consequences this will bring to him? —@JustJensenDean ACKLES: Maybe not specifically for Dean but there’s a consequence in general for Death being slain. What does that mean for all the reapers? And what does that mean for that part of the equation? And how is that going to rear its ugly head, which you know it will. So I think it’s less of a bounty on Dean’s head and more of a, “Well you just screwed up the whole natural order of things and things are going to go pretty haywire.”
How will Sam’s visions play into this season? —@kristyl_ PADALECKI: Sam and Dean are both struggling with the idea that they don’t always know what’s real and what’s not and they’re both having visions of sorts, or they both think they’re having visions. And Sam’s natural instinct is to back away from it at first because it takes him back to a deep dark place and he doesn’t know what they’re for. I say this with an asterisk because it is supernatural, but Sam’s pretty grounded, pretty rooted in the reality of the situation and he tries to go about it in a scholastic way. When these visions start, he’s less concerned with what’s happening in the visions and more concerned with why he’s getting them and who’s sending them to him. We’ll see Sam doing something we’ve never really seen him do — pray. He doesn’t know who he’s praying to but just asking for some help because he realizes it’s beyond him and it’s beyond Dean.
I want to know what will happen with Rowena and the Book of the Damned? Will the book be important for the mythology? —@AcklesLogic PADALECKI: I think so and I hope so. Rowena’s out in the wind and she certainly doesn’t want to be found and the boys are hitting a bunch of dead ends. Although Sam’s kind of the researcher, there’s not really a lot written about the Darkness, so we have to reverse engineer the situation and we are unfortunately going to have to either ask for help from our enemies or beat some help out of our enemies. We’ll see which category Rowena falls into but we do love Ruth [Connell] over here and I’m excited to have her back whenever she gets to come back.
I’m hoping for some lighter, fun episodes this season. Will we see any? —@SPN_Sherry ACKLES: Oh yeah, after all it is a show that really made its mark at how we balanced the dark episodes with the light episodes and everything in between. I think that juxtaposition has always been a signature of ours. Even though the last couple of seasons have been pretty heavy and pretty dramatic, I think now that we’ve got the brothers back in the saddle so to speak, it is going to lend itself to some more of those moments. In fact, I foresee a lot of T-shirt and bumper sticker sayings [about episode 4]. PADALECKI: I’ll give you a hint: I am on my way to shoot a car-wash scene.

Everything we know about Supernatural season 11 (so far)
by Samantha Highfill • @samhighfill
Posted September 16 2015 — 3:00 PM EDT
When Supernatural’s 11th season kicks off, the Winchester brothers will once again have to save the world. However, this time it has nothing to do with the apocalypse, Leviathans, purgatory, or Metatron. We think.
This season is all about the arrival of the evil that no one knows anything about: the Darkness. But that mystery aside, there are a few things we know about what to expect when the brothers return. How did last season end?
Dean killed Death. Rowena removed the Mark of Cain from Dean’s arm, thereby unleashing the Darkness, which enveloped Sam and Dean. Oh, and Rowena then cast a spell on Cas that forced him to attack Crowley while she made her escape with the Book of the Damned. What is the Darkness?
The prebiblical entity will be just that: one entity. More specifically, we’re pretty sure it will be played by a woman. (Maybe even this woman?) And thanks to a lack of lore on the subject, the Darkness will leave the boys with more than a few questions, and that’s precisely what will lead them to ask for help from people, both good and bad. Yes, even Metatron. Any familiar faces coming to town?
None we can guarantee, though it’s safe to say Crowley will be sticking around post-Castiel’s attack. But the biggest point of intrigue this season has to be the possible return — or is it introduction? — of God. Jared Padalecki did reveal that the big man could be coming along for the ride considering he’s the only one who has extensive knowledge of the Darkness (and what it takes to defeat it.)
And although this isn’t necessarily a familiar face, it is familiar: Sam’s visions are back. Well, he thinks. And it seems Dean might have them too? How is the relationship between the brothers?
To sum it up quickly: It’s good. It seems that after everything they’ve been through — which is A LOT — the Winchesters have realized that they’re stronger together than they are apart. And that’s probably good considering that Death’s death is definitely going to come back to bite them.

Jared Padalecki gives details on Supernatural's Impala-centric episode
Episode four is all about Baby BY SAMANTHA HIGHFILL • @SAMHIGHFILL
With every season of Supernatural, there’s a checklist of things you can expect: Near-death experiences, tear-inducing brother moments, meta episodes, rides in the Impala, and more. Only, in season 11, the show’s giving us a lot more than just rides in the Impala.
See the first photos from 'Supernatural' season 11 Episode four of seaason 11, properly titled “Baby,” is all about the third Winchester brother. (Well, fourth if you include poor Adam.)
“It’s done in a very clever Supernatural way, mind you, but episode four is a very cool episode,” Jared Padalecki said. “It’s all about the Impala. We’ve had this third lead character for 10 seasons strong and, we’re not revealing a personality, but we see just how much a part of the Winchesters’ lives it is.”

In terms of specifics, the only thing we know to expect for sure at this point is a car-wash scene. But according to Padalecki, there are a few other classic Supernatural moments coming our way. “[There’s] a bit of everything: the obligatory Sam-and-Dean-talk-over-the-hood-of-the-Impala, or Sam-and-Dean-talk-in-the-Impala,” he said.
But most importantly, the episode will shine a new light on the Impala’s journey throughout the series. “You kind of see the Impala in work in all these scenes from seasons past where we haven’t necessarily know where it is or known how it got there. You see just how crucial a character it is.”
As for that car-wash scene? As Padalecki put it, “We gotta keep her clean.” (Especially if God’s joining the road trip.)

‘Supernatural’ Casts ‘Hello Ladies’ Star for Surreal Guest Role
Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) will get a blast from the past in “Supernatural’s” upcoming 11th season. The CW’s enduring horror series has cast Nate Torrence as Sully, Sam’s imaginary friend from childhood, Variety has learned exclusively.

Sully appears in episode 1108, titled “Just My Imagination,” because he needs Sam and Dean’s (Jensen Ackles) help. The episode will be directed by “Supernatural” alum Richard Speight Jr., who memorably played the angel Gabriel (and moonlighted as The Trickster) in various episodes between seasons two and nine. Speight and fellow “Supernatural” fan favorite Rob Benedict also moderated the show’s 2015 panel at San Diego Comic-Con, and are currently working on a crowdfunded webseries called “Kings of Con” which raised almost $300,000 earlier this year.

Torrence was most recently seen in Fox’s midseason comedy “Weird Loners,” and previously appeared on HBO’s “Hello Ladies,” ABC’s “Mr. Sunshine” and NBC’s “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip.” He can currently be heard as the voice of Ferguson on Disney XD’s “Stars and The Forces of Evil.” Film projects have included “Get Smart,” “My Best Friend’s Girl,” “She’s Out of My League” and “Hello Ladies: The Movie.”
Torrence is repped by Truhett Garcia Management, UTA and Lev Ginsburg.

'Supernatural': Who Might Die in Season 11? The extended trailer for The CW's long-running series reveals that someone major is dying. But who is it?
The extended trailer for The CW's long-running series reveals that someone major is dying. But who is it? Death (Julian Richings) may be dead, but that won't stop death with a lowercase "d" from plaguing Supernatural this season.
After Dean (Jensen Ackles) made the hasty decision to kill Death with his own scythe in the season 10 finale, both he and Sam (Jared Padalecki) had no idea what that meant for the world moving forward. Dean only did it to save Sam's life, but now that Death is gone and the Mark of Cain has been removed from Dean's arm, releasing the mysterious evil Darkness into the world, all bets are off going into season 11.
The extended season 11 trailer reveals that without Death to patrol the natural order of things and with the Darkness running free, everything is in chaos. Set to Death's hauntingly beautiful theme song, "O, Death," the two-minute promo features many shots of Sam and Dean bloody and beaten, Castiel (Misha Collins) suffering from the curse Rowena (Ruth Connell) put on him, and Crowley (Mark Sheppard) looking smug, wearing a priest's collar — two things that should never be allowed to happen.
See more Broadcast TV's Returning Shows 2015-16
"What new hell has Dean Winchester unleashed upon the world?" Rowena ominously asks. Looks like everyone is going to come to regret Dean's rash actions this season.
But the most foreboding part of the new footage is an unidentified woman telling someone, "I know you're dying. I can feel it."
Who is she talking to? As immune to death as the Winchesters may seem after 10 years of battling demons, angels and everything in between, Sam is looking worse for wear when he asks God for help. Those black marks running up his neck don't mean anything good ... are they a sign of the Darkness taking hold? Could season 11 be the end for Sam?
Or could this mysterious woman be talking to Castiel? When viewers last saw the angel, he had just been cursed to attack Crowley, and in the new trailer, he still bears the red, bloodshot eyes that came with the curse. He's also seen tied up, with someone putting a black bag over his head. But Castiel has come back from much worse situations than that.
Of course, she could be talking to Dean. Without the Mark of Cain keeping him alive, and having just killed Death, the elder Winchester has a giant bull's-eye on his back going into the new season. Does killing Death automatically make Dean next in line to take up the position?
Perhaps the King of Hell, Crowley, and his mother Rowena might finally meet their makers now that there's a dark entity out there more powerful than them.
Check out the extended trailer below, and then vote in the poll below with your thoughts on which character is most likely to die in season 11.

Supernatural shoots scenes for season 11 in North Vancouver and downtown Vancouver
10/5/2015
0 Comments
THIS POST CONTAINS POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOR EPISODE(S) OF SUPERNATURAL SEASON 11 (Probably around ep 5 or 6 or 7). If you have not yet seen these episodes and do not want to see or read any possible spoilers to them. Do not continue. . . . last warning . .
In late August and early September I caught up with Supernatural shooting a couple times. They COULD be for the same episode, or completely different episodes. I never spent enough time at either location to get a read on where they were in the filming schedules for the season.
The first location was in North Vancouver on a quiet side street. I know little about the shoot except for the face that Jared Padalecki as Sam Winchester walks out of a drive way into the street where a couple of emergency vehicles are. I have been led to believe Jensen Ackles was also on set for the scene, but I never confirmed that (I thought I saw him at the wrap of the scene leaving, but it was too dark to be completely sure).
A short while later the crew moved a block down the street to a church that they had redesigned to look like the parking lot of a biker bar. When I heard no primary cast were going to be there for the scene, I took a couple pics of the signs they put up and left on the last bus out of there for the night to get home at a reasonable hour. A week later, I caught them downtown. This time they were shooting in an alley just off of Granville Street and it involved Misha Collins as Castiel doing a scene where he was crouched over top of a man laying on the ground.
This night was pretty busy for me as I had 2 film sets I was working on. So I didn't get to stick around there long. But still long enough to run into Misha, along with a few lucky fans that were there as he went for a snack break.
Misha chatted with the fans there, and told us a "worst restaurant" story about 1 of the places they once filmed at in Chinatown. When I asked him the name of the place so I would know never to go there, he said "unfortunately I don't remember.....which has caused me to avoid the whole area all together". He then told me he would see me "next week" which I then told him I wouldn't be in town at that time and he said "well, I guess I wont then." and he was off to grab his snacks and go back to work.
