There isn’t anything that could surprise Sam and Dean Winchester. They’ve been believing in — and fighting — the impossible since they were kids. Heck, they’ve even become the impossible. But when they have to face the Darkness in Supernatural season 11, it’s less about surprising more and more about stumping them.

'Supernatural': Will God appear in season 11?
When the show began, the Winchesters had their father’s journal to guide them. Then they had Bobby. And now, they have the Men of Letters library. But what do you do when the Men of Letters library can’t help you? Well, if you’re Sam, you read it over and over again.

“Luckily the Men of Letters library didn’t get destroyed by the Stynes at the end of season 10 so Sam still will look into the books,” Jared Padalecki said. “For many seasons all we had was dad’s journal and we read it front to back and upside down and all around but we still would refer to it. It’s like a movie that you want 30 times and you keep getting more information each time, so Sam goes back to the books that he does have to try and seek out any sort of help he can.”

Yet, even Sam recognizes that the Darkness is unlike anything they’ve ever faced before. “We’ve had the yellow-eyed demon, we’ve had Lilith, we’ve had Leviathans and we’ve had everything in between and so this Darkness – it’s so grand,” Padalecki said. “We’ve had this false sense of security in seasons past — we knew some backstory and some info. We had a little bit to work with. But the Darkness, it’s so daunting and it’s so vast. The word itself implies that it’s going to be cloudy and tough to try to break into. It’s one of those situations where, proverbially and literally and supernaturally, it’s the perfect name.”

Jensen Ackles added: “It predates the Bible so there’s really nothing that they can go back and research as far as how to handle or deal or fix or control whatever it is that this is and so I think that they’re kind of hands in the air at this point.”

But the Winchesters don’t quit. (Seriously, you can kill them and they still won’t quit.) Now it’s just a matter of how they keep moving forward without answers. “They’re going to have to turn a lot to angels and the demons because they’re the only ones that have ever heard of this thing,” Ackles said. “Because of that, that’s going to involve a lot of Castiel and a lot more of Crowley and all of their people and it should be interesting.”

But until they find answers, the brothers aren’t just going to sit by and spend their days eating bacon cheeseburgers and drinking beer (even though Dean would probably love that). “Because we don’t know what to do, the brothers are not just going to sit idle and wait for somebody to tell them what to do,” Ackles said. “They’re going to go out and they’re at least going to try to help people. We start out by saying, ‘Listen, because we don’t know what to do, let’s just continue doing what we do best and that is saving people and hunting things. There’s still monsters out there. There’s still things happening.’ So with that said, they’re going to keep trying to save people and keep hunting things. They’re going to keep finding cases, keep hunting lore until they have to face or know how to face what it is that they released.”

The best part of this news? They’re doing all of this as a team. “They have a common mission a common goal and they’re back on the same team without having to worry about if one another is going to die or go dark or go soulless or start drinking blood or whatever it is,” Ackles said.

TVLINE | Dean and Sam are working together. But are things completely copacetic between them?
It’s not that I don’t think things are copacetic — they’re very much on the same page — but there are always extracurricular things going on that they have to work through. But it’s not quite so headbutt-y as it may have been in the past. They very, very much have the same agenda, and they’re both confronted at separates times during the beginning of the season with different ways of getting there. It’s figuring out how to deal with that individually and with each other. But they’re very much united in what they ultimately want.

Supernatural Season 11 SpoilersTVLINE | Are there any residual issues from what went down at the end of the Season 10 finale between Dean and Sam?

They try as hard as they can to put that behind them, particularly in the first couple episodes, understanding the shared culpability for what is happening. There is residual fallout just from what happened that they’re going to have to deal with, but not necessarily a residual anger toward each other.

TVLINE | The theme of the season is, “You can’t outrun your past,” which sounds like a very personal arc. How does that connect to the bigger storylines and mythology?

The idea of the mythology this year is presenting another Big Bad to take on, which is this Darkness. As responsible as the boys feel for having released The Darkness and how much they personally want to defeat it, they’re not going to be able to do it alone. They’re going to have to confront some figures from their past. They’re going to have to make some unexpected and unholy alliances involving folks from their past, which will have personal ramifications, as well — because these are some pretty significant figures from their past.

TVLINE | In the finale, The Darkness was this ominous black cloud. How is it going to manifest itself?
I’d rather keep that cloudy, as it were, for now. But folks will understand in the early moments of Season 11 exactly how The Darkness is going to manifest itself.

TVLINE | Not all of the show’s bad guys have immediately been confrontational, adversarial villains. Is that the case here, where maybe The Darkness isn’t all terrible?

One of the cool things about this season is how much mystery and – I’m going to make up a word here – “unknowingness” there is to what exactly is going on. There’s a lot of mystery to not only to what or who The Darkness is, but what The Darkness wants. That’s something the show takes its time building and playing with, and it really causes the brothers some fits. They desperately want to punch something; they’re just not sure what to punch.

TVLINE | How do the angels and demon respond to this new pre-biblical entity?

I’ll just say that The Darkness is of such enormous order of Big Bad for us, in terms of its power, that I don’t think it’s talking out of turn to say that even the angels in Heaven and the demons in Hell are scared of what this thing could do to their way of life. Everyone’s got a stake in figuring out how to deal with it.

Castiel, first and foremost, has to find a way out of this spell that Rowena has cast on him — and that’s not as easy as it may sound. Being under the influence of this spell is going to lead him to some pretty uncomfortable situations. So for Castiel, we’re going to see him in something of a vulnerable state early on in the season. He is working alongside the Winchesters while at the same time trying very hard to reestablish or redefine what his place in the universe is. He is, essentially, finding a way to get his mojo back.

TVLINE | Assuming he lives, how will the Crowley and Rowena relationship develop? Will he step up and try to get payback for all her manipulations of him?

We can assume that. We saw toward the end of last season, and we’ll certainly see beginning of this season, that this bromance that we all had so much fun with, with Crowley and Dean, has soured. So we’re going to see more of a vintage Crowley here in terms of scheming, being less caring about Dean and Sam, and very much trying to figure out how he himself is going to navigate this new world where The Darkness threatens just about everything.
In terms of his relationship with his mom, I don’t think there’s any question that he harbors a grudge and will put a certain amount of effort on getting revenge on her. It’s one of the fun things to see this season is how when they eventually are in the same room again, how they relate to one another given all the bad blood. That’s one of the, I would consider, more delicious parts of the season.

TVLINE | You cast Emily Swallow as the character Amara. Who is she and how does she fit into the mythology?
I can’t say too much. That’s one we want to let play out on screen. Emily has brought the character to life in a way that we’re just thrilled over.

On Wednesday night’s season 11 premiere of “Supernatural,” we had a chance to see the Winchester brothers back in action, and doing some more of what they do best: Hunt down and try to piece together mysteries related to things that make you go bump in the night.

Unfortunately, the Darkness is a little bit more vast of an opponent than anything that we’ve seen the brothers square off against in the past. It is overwhelming, pre-Biblical, and dangerous in ways that cannot be fully explained. Next week’s episode entitled “Form and Void” will look to try to resolve some of the mysteries of the premiere … but far from all of them. It is also going to feature Dean on a rescue mission, and Sam having at one point his work cut out for him. Take a look at the synopsis below for some further details:

“Dean (Jensen Ackles) helps Jenna (guest star Laci J. Mailey), the nurse he met after the Darkness fell, get back home safely and then sets off to help Sam (Jared Padalecki) deal with a town infected by a mysterious and deadly gas. However, when Jenna falls into dangerous hands, she calls Dean for help and Sam tells him to go back to her. Unfortunately for Sam, he isn’t able to handle the townspeople turned monsters as easily as he thought.”

You still have to remember that this story is still the tip of the iceberg for what we are thinking will be a season-long conflict with the Darkness. After all, why bring in a villain like that unless you really plan on causing as much carnage with them as possible?

One can definitely be injured without affecting the other. “It’s not like a voodoo doll” (or “twinsies,” as Jared Padalecki jokes) “or anything like that,” star Jensen Ackles clarifies. “We will see… what exactly that relationship is” between Dean and The Darkness, Ackles adds. “I don’t think that he knows what to make of it. What it all means and how it’s all going to tie into his destiny and his future and what that means for the brothers, he’s very nervous about. Obviously, those nerves are something that he’s going to be hiding, but we will see it get fleshed out a bit.”

Interestingly, Dean will also be meeting Billie the reaper (played by Lisa Berry), in the fall finale. “To be honest… we have not shot those scenes yet, so I don’t know how intense it’s going to be,” Jensen Ackles said on set last week. “But I’m excited to work with her.”

The Winchesters took a bit of a break from the Darkness in the most recent episode of SUPERNATURAL, hitting the road for a good old fashioned case. But it turns out they couldn’t escape the force they have unleashed upon the earth and they learned that even run-of-the-mill monsters are frightened of the Darkness.

During a recent visit to the set of SUPERNATURAL in Vancouver, reporters sat down to talk with stars Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles about this season’s big bad, the brothers fighting side-by-side and more.

When asked about Dean’s connection to Amara, Ackles said that “we will see kind of that relationship a little bit more and see what exactly that relationship is. I don’t think that he knows what to make of it. I’m not sure that he understands the connection and why [he has it with her].” Be prepared for Dean to hide his nerves about this connection.

Meanwhile, as the brothers fight together against a common foe, the actors were asked to give their thoughts on the nature of the Darkness and whether she (it?) is inherently evil. While Padalecki thinks that she is, Ackles was a bit more forgiving, explaining that it’s possible the Darkness “isn’t inherently evil, [but is maybe] opposite of what we know in the world as good. Or as light, so to speak. Which is why she is the Darkness…..I think it means she is out to bring darkness and whatever that means is yet to be determined.”

Padalecki and Ackles were also asked about the monsters who were frightened of the Darkness in “Baby” and the fact that they’re building up their forces to combat the Darkness. Will we see more of that? Padalecki joked that we’ll see “ghoul-pires at the bar with the angels and the demons”. Ackles went on to explain that we’ll continue to see unique alliances. “People are kind of getting their defences together. They’re forming these alliances and saying ‘listen, it’s not about you and me anymore, it’s about us and we’re going to lose all of this if we don’t join forces and man-up’. I think we’re going to see a little bit more of that in the future.”

Supernatural has tapped WWE champion Mike “The Miz” Mizanin to guest-star on an upcoming Season 11 installment, TVLine has learned exclusively.

As we previously reported, Episode 15 will go inside “the world of small town circuit wrestling, which is going to be a lot of fun,” executive producer Jeremy Carver says.

In the hour, former Real World housemate Mizanin will play Shawn Harley, a young, upstart professional wrestler with a temper to match his talent. Harley wants to rise in the ranks, and will do so by any means necessary.

Executive producer Jeremy Carver promises "some fairly shocking turns right from the jump" when the series returns. While Sam seriously ponders Lucifer's offer to be his vessel, Dean will struggle with the question of whether he has "the strength to admit to himself the hold that [Amara] has on him and admit this to others," Carver previews. "Him doing that is going to lead to some pretty interesting results." Castiel, who seems to have fallen into a showhole, will return "in new and unexpected ways," and his quest to repair his mojo will lead to "startling consequences" for all. Bobby Singer (Jim Beaver) est de retour dans la saison 11 de Supernatural.

Il s’agira d’une apparition pour les besoins d’un flashback. Bobby Singer retrouvera son vieux pote Rufus (Steven Williams) : « Dean et Sam vont enquêter sur une vieille affaire sur laquelle Rufus et Bobby avaient déjà travaillé » selon le producteur exécutif de la série.

Et comme une bonne nouvelle ne vient jamais seule, Mark Pedowitz laisse entendre que Supernatural pourrait bientôt être renouvelée pour une saison 12. Le président de CW déclare : « Jensen Ackles et Jared Padalecki s’éclatent ensemble. Même après 11 saisons. Alors, tant qu’ils s’éclatent à jouer les frères Winchester rien ne s’oppose à ce que nous continuions. Surtout que les audiences sont bonnes. Aussi bonnes qu’on pouvait l’espérer. Bien sûr, rien n’est encore fait, mais j’ai bon espoir qu’on parvienne à un accord pour une nouvelle saison ».

Il en profite pour renvoyer la balle dans le camp des producteurs : « s’ils continuent à écrire de bonnes histoires, si les audiences continuent d’être bonnes et si les acteurs sont toujours motivés alors oui, on va essayer de continuer ».

A noter que SPN est la série la plus ancienne de la CW.

Over the summer, Arrow star Stephen Amell crossed over to the WWE to wrestle at Summer Slam. Now the WWE is coming to a different CW Wednesday night show: Supernatural.

According to TVLine, WWE superstar Mike "The Miz" Mizanin will guest star on the 15th episode of Supernatural season 11. The episode will find the Winchesters investigating a case connected to a small town's indie wrestling circuit, with Miz naturally playing an aspiring professional wrestler.

Mizanin started out as one of the stars of MTV's The Real World, but transitioned that fame into a successful career with the WWE. This won't be his first acting role as he's previously made guest appearances on USA's Psych and Sirens.

Earlier this season, another WWE superstar, Adam Copeland (aka Edge), guest starred on the CW's The Flash as Atom-Smasher.

Are you excited to see the Miz come to Supernatural? Are you hoping to see Sam or Dean enter the ring? The 15th episode of season 11 should air at the end of February or the beginning of March.

Supernatural returns with the second half of season 11 starting Wednesday, January 20 at 9pm on the CW.

Retour de Claire et Jody Mills dans l'épisode 12

Voici le synopsis >>> Sam et Dean rendent visite à Jody Mills, Alex et Claire, après avoir reçu un appel paniqué de la part de cette dernière. Elle croit que les derniers meurtres commis en ville sont d'origine surnaturelle et souhaite que les boys les aident. Toutefois, le shériff Mills prévient Sam et Dean que Claire a eu des ennuis récemment, après avoir attaqué des gens normaux en les accusant d'être des monstres.

La première moitié de saison 11 de la série Supernatural a plutôt bien fonctionnée avec des épisodes qui ont mis la barre assez haute. Mais les responsables de la série ne comptent pas en rester là. En effet, un des épisodes de la seconde moitié de saison va plonger les frères Winchester dans un sous-marin pendant la seconde guerre mondiale

Dans cette mi-saison, nous aurons aussi droit à une enquête qui remontera à plusieurs années en arrière avec un cas qui aura été vu par Rufus et Bobby. Mais le plus intéressant c’est que nous verrons le retour de Rufus et Bobby, via une vieille enquête. Ce sera probablement très sympa, une sorte d’épisode nostalgique et un peu flippant.

Enfin, Jeremy Carver dit quelques mots sur l’épisode dont il est le plus fier.

« Nous retournerons dans le passé pour un épisode qui se situera dans un sous-marin datant de la seconde guerre mondiale avec des soldats américains d’aujourd’hui. Ce sera notre version de Das Boot. Toute l’équipe de production a fait un travail absolument magnifique et ce sera un épisode de malade. »
